About the Minnesota Vikings

Originally meant to join the American Football League, the Minnesota Vikings joined the NFL in 1961 – becoming the 14th team in the NFL at the time. After seven years of futility, the Vikings qualified for the playoffs for the first time in franchise history in 1968, and advanced to the Super Bowl in 1969 – but lost to the Kansas City Chiefs. Minnesota appeared in the Super Bowl again in 1973, 1974 and 1976 – but lost each time.

Since then, the Vikings haven't made it back to the Super Bowl – but the Vikings and Vikings fans are ready to take the next step, and bring home the franchise's first-ever Lombardi trophy.

Hopes are high in Minnesota that the Vikings will compete for the NFC North crown in 2018-2019. Don't just watch the Vikings on TV – be there this season with your Minnesota Vikings tickets, when they play outdoors at the brand new TCF Bank Stadium!
